MAVIO Privacy Policy
Last Updated: September 4, 2026
1. Introduction
MAVIO ("the App") is a proprietary intelligent campus transit tracking and fleet management platform developed, operated, and owned by SkillForge Technologies ("SkillForge", "we", "us", or "our").
We respect your privacy and are committed to safeguarding the personal data of all users, including students, drivers, and institutional management administrators. This Privacy Policy details how we collect, use, store, process, and protect your information across the MAVIO mobile and web applications.
2. Location Data Collection & Usage (Important)
To fulfill its core function of live campus transit tracking, ETA estimation, and student safety, MAVIO collects and transmits precise location coordinates:
Driver Location Tracking (Foreground & Background): The driver application collects precise geographic location data (latitude, longitude, speed, heading, and altitude) continuously in the foreground and background while a trip is active. This background location collection operates even when the app is closed or cleared from recent tasks, allowing continuous tracking for the safety of student riders. Background location tracking begins only when a driver starts a trip manually and ceases immediately when the trip is ended.
- For Drivers: Location telemetry (coordinates, vehicle speed, bearing, trip status) is transmitted to secure cloud servers in real-time to update the live map for students and dispatch controllers.
- For Students & Parents: The app requests fine location permissions solely to display the student's current position relative to approaching buses on the map interface. Student location is rendered locally on the client device and is never uploaded or tracked on our remote servers.
3. Camera Permission & QR Code Scanning
MAVIO requests camera access for the following specific and limited operational purpose:
- Vehicle QR Code Scanning for Drivers: The driver application uses the device camera solely to scan physical QR code stickers affixed to vehicle dashboards. This allows drivers to instantly verify vehicle identity, take over temporary shift assignments, and route live telemetry for that specific bus.
- Strict On-Device Processing: Camera frames are analyzed in real time exclusively on your local device for barcode pattern recognition.
- No Photo/Video Storage or Upload: MAVIO never captures, records, saves, stores, or uploads any photographs, videos, or camera feeds to remote servers or third parties.
- Limited Execution: Camera access is active only while the driver explicitly opens and views the in-app scanner interface.
4. Personal and Account Information Collected
To authenticate authorized users and manage transit schedules, we collect and process the following information:
- Account Identifiers: Organization Access Code, Student/Staff Roll Number, Date of Birth (used for multi-factor authentication), Full Name, Email Address, and Phone Number.
- Transit & Vehicle Information: Assigned bus route IDs, vehicle registration numbers, driver assignments, and trip timestamps.
- Technical & Telemetry Data: Device model, operating system version, push notification tokens (for service alerts), GPS accuracy metrics, and network connectivity status.
5. How We Use Your Information
Collected data is used strictly for transit operations and service improvement:
- To render real-time transit bus locations on interactive map displays for authorized students and parents.
- To calculate accurate Estimated Times of Arrival (ETAs) at designated bus stops.
- To send vital transit notifications (e.g., trip commencement, delays, schedule modifications).
- To provide administrative oversight, route optimization, and historical trip audits for registered institutions.
- To detect, prevent, and troubleshoot technical bugs and service anomalies.
6. Data Sharing & Third-Party Disclosure
We do not sell, rent, monetize, or trade your personal data or location coordinates with third-party advertisers.
Your data is strictly shared with:
- Your Registered Institution: Organization administrators have access to transit telemetry and roster data associated with their own organization.
- Infrastructure Partners: Secure cloud database and authentication infrastructure provided by Supabase (encrypted in transit and at rest), and push notification infrastructure provided by OneSignal.
- Legal Compliance: If required by law, regulation, or court subpoena.
7. Data Security, Retention, and Deletion
We employ industry-standard security measures, including 256-bit SSL/TLS encryption for all data in transit and AES encryption for data at rest.
Trip location telemetry is automatically purged after standard retention intervals. Users may request complete deletion of their account profile and data at any time by contacting their institution or by visiting our Account Deletion Page.
